On 10 February 2017, Consul General WANG Shuying and Lord Mayor of Belfast Brian Kingston jointly hosted an reception celebrating the Chinese New Year of Rooster at Belfast City Hall.

Consul General Wang, Lord Mayor Kingston, Northern Ireland Minister for Infrastructure Chris Hazzard and Mr. Danny Wong, Chairman of Chinese Chamber of Commerce NI delivered festival greetings and warm remarks respectively.

There were around 200 distinguished guests in attendance, including Her Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenant of Belfast Judith Hill, Lord Chief Justice Declan Morgan, Mayors and deputy Mayors from other cities, other local dignitaries and friends from all walks of life, as well as representatives from Chinese community, Chinese students and scholars in NI.

It was followed by excellent performances given by Chinese students from Queens University Belfast and Ulster University, students from Confucius Institute and classrooms, and local Taichi practioners from NI Chinese community, etc.
