From September 12 to 14, 2017, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of Liaoning Provincial People’s Congress Mr. LIU Zhengkui visited Northern Ireland. During the visit, Mr. LIU Zhengkui held separate meetings with Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly Mr. Robin Newton and Interim Head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service Mr. David Sterling, and respectively attended seminars hosted by Invest NI, Queens University Belfast and Ulster University. Both sides had in-depth discussions on further win-win collaborations in the areas of economy and trade, education, health and medicare, in particular the joint research and development of advanced technology and products, and also signed Letter of Intent to Develop a Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment of a Regular Exchange Mechanism Between the Standing Committee of Liaoning Provincial People’s Congress and the Northern Ireland Assembly.
